Abstract


National interest is the essential starting point and the foothold for any country’s foreign policy in the international society. And it is also the standard to test the rationality of the national policy in the intricate international community. In the globalization times, the coincide and the differences of the national interest have become the root cause of national relationship. Because of the special position, China and the USA have been the most important bilateral relations in the international society since they established diplomatic relations. Especially in the 21st century, with the sustainable and healthy development of China’s economy, the comprehensive national power and the status are improving, the two countries have become each other’s become "stakeholders" and "constructive player". But, this is accompanied by many unharmonious factors. There is a mainline behind sino-us relations which are seemed vagaries and capricious, that is national interest.The first part of the paper, I have briefly combed the development and the status of sino-us ralations. Through analyzing and summarizing, we can see, since the founding of China, the sino-us relations have lots of turns, ups and downs. Since entering new century, the relations between the two countries is generally well, but sometimes, unharmonious factors influenced the relationship. The reason is the national interest. The second part, firstly I overview the national interest. Then I point out the national interest is the starting point and the foothold to analyze the international relationship. It’s the reason to decide the country’s foreign policy.Part three, I summarize and analyze the common interests of the two countries and interest differences.Part four, I make the countermeasures to the relationship between the two countries. First, we should establish international mechanisms between the two countries. Meanwhile we must strengthen and expand mutual interests, properly handle the differences. Finally, we must grasp the opportunity, improve ourselves in various aspects. We can promote the relationship between the two countries healthy and stability.
