Abstract

With the society civilization of mankind progressing, people’s views diverge on death, and doubt to traditional sense of death, from solely attaching importance to“eugenism”, and gradually concerning about the contribution of quality of death to value of life. So, with the people’s sense of death changing, the euthanasia is a medical treatment means that aimed to reduce the patient’s pain in early, and gradually become a focus on a series of social ethics problems. Due to its“universal value”in the category of discussion, it caused academics, medical institutions, government and even the general public attention. At the same time, the domestic and overseas academics discussing euthanasia is based on legal perspective mostly, but studying on bioethics are rare.With the rapid developing of modern medical science and technology, organ transplantation and gene technology have been appeared, and the definition, mode and concept of death have been changed. It can extend and maintain the patient’s life, at the same time, often accompanying new problems produced, and prompting people to seek methods to shorten the painful process. In this context, it contributed to the formation and development of euthanasia. Then, the euthanasia involves the human nature—life and death. Therefore, we have needs to think and study the euthanasia from bioethical perspective.The euthanasia caused debate has been a long time and increasingly fierce. Both proponents and opponents, the essence is not beyond the basis of bioethical sense of humanitarian and utilitarian. Humanitarian is mainly from the life sacred theory, highlighting the sanctity and inviolability of life; utilitarian is mainly from the theory of life quality and life value, efficacy and benefit as the evaluating certain things. Only the two relations scientifically reasonable balance, you can correctly understand the euthanasia.To sum up, this paper expects that the public can correctly, scientifically understand the euthanasia by setting up correct sense on death, let’s promoting the introduction of relevant legislation on euthanasia, and contributing to the current society faced difficulties. So, this paper chooses the perspective of bioethics and discusses the ethical idea, ethical norm, and ethical principle of euthanasia deeply.
