Abstract


How is the development of PE course and what are the strengths and weaknesses of private school of higher education in Hunan Province after a brief development of twenty years? Concerning the current state of what have been mentioned above, a lot of research methods are adopted, like questionnaire, document consulting, interviewing with experts and data analyzing, etc. to conduct a thorough research into 13 private schools of this kind in Hunan Province from different aspects like the curriculum, professors, equipment in the stadium and opinion poll of the students. Here is that conclusion after analyzing and deducing data processed with the help of Microsoft Excel:The elective course of PE in Private schools has several advantages:Firstly, the majority of the teachers are fulltime or part-time teachers, complemented by guest teachers, which makes the constitution of teaching force respectively flexible and stable. Secondly, these schools are independent and create enough to arrange their PE courses in accordance with the demand of the market, students, equipment in schools and teaching forces, which makes for a teaching with striking features. Thirdly, the development of the assessment of teachers, which includes that from their students, puts the students first, encourages the development of teachers and schools. Fourthly, there are advantages and disadvantages when there is more fresh blood in the teaching force. On one hand, they are vigorous, creative so that they can learn new projects,Knowledge and information much easier and they are in-demand. On the other hand, however, with a lack of experience and the less capability to do research, they cannot verify the activities in class, which gives no full play to the interests or personalities of students, so that they can’t achieve the goal of teaching. Next, the content they choose couldn’t demonstrate the feathers of private schools. Finally, thereexists a problem of a lack of stadium.There are some suggestions:1. Strengthen the leading to private common college public P.E teaching; 2. Increase the investment in the public P.E teaching and found the unique P.E education; 3. Strengthen the reform of the P.E course, enrich the organization,intension and teaching course; establish the various evaluating system; 4. Strengthen the construction of teachers, give energetic support to bring in the youth teachers which not only have excellent educational background, but also outstanding professional skills and quality.5. Develop to construct the gymnasiums and show off the physical education teaching features of the colleges.
