Abstract


With the rapid development of Fiber Channel technology,the FC transfer rate is increasing fast and the amount of data on the FC-based transmission network is also growing quickly.That ask for higher request on network management. Through analyzing the captured data,the FC Protocol Analyzer is used to help engineers find out the potential problems or position network error has occurred.The FC Protocol Analyzer can be devided into two parts based on its work:the data acquisition card and the protocol analyzing software. For the large amount of data collected by the analyzer,its storage mode will directly impact on the efficiency of data searching and analysizing.There are two kind of storage mode now.The first is using self-define file format and another is using database. The latter has better flexibility because of the powerful data organization and management capabilities of database.The indexing function of database can be used to quickly find out the data that the user interested in. Compared to the traditional way that finding out and analysizing the data one by one artificially,the database mode has double advantage on efficiency and reliability.In this paper,the software part of the FC Protocol Analyzer is mainly studied,including the HBA driver and the protocol analysis software. The next generation driver development model of Microsoft—WDF is used to develop the driver,and the SQL Server 2005 database is used in the application.The connecting test result verified the validity and availability of the HBA driver on data processing,and also verified the feasibility of using the database to store FC data.
