Abstract

With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, increasing complexity of the system, the antenna can also make new demands and challenges, based on new requirements for mobile communication systems and modern mobile communications engineering background, this paper applies to LTE system to commence in the dual-polarized omni-directional ceiling antenna design and research.Firstly, this paper summarizes the development of LTE system, analysis of several multi-antenna implementations for LTE system. Then explained the basic principles of antenna radiation and the parameters of the antenna, introduced the scenario and design principles of the omni-directional ceiling antenna in modern mobile communication systems, proposed dual-polarized omni-directional ceiling antenna concept. Assess several main types of vertical and horizontal polarized omni-directional antenna performance, several main types of horizontal polarized omni-directional antennas have been studied in focus, including the coaxial slot antenna, Alford loop antenna, printed dipole circular array, comprehensive analysis and simulation of their electrical properties. Finally, based on the above study and discussion, this paper develops a dual-polarized omni-directional ceiling antenna. Launched a comprehensive simulation and design for this antenna, then manufacture it and measure its electrical performance. Test results consistent with the simulation results, indicating that the designed antenna meets to the requirements of the technical indicators.
