The ball screw is the important component of the machine, and its performance has a direct impact on the quality and service life of machine tool. The structure is directly related to the rationality and reliability of repair personnel life safety. Pro/E parametric design platform and HyperMesh parametric analysis platform was used to the ball screw parametric design analysis. The parametric modeling method and the parametric modeling of common problems is summarized, which could save time for the smooth implementation of parametric design analysis and rapidly change the designer’s design intent into 3D entity model. The strength, stiffness, fatigue life of the ball screw were analyzed to change the final product structure to the actual needs of the product, which improved the efficiency of product design to greatly shorten the product development cycle as a powerful means. The use of HyperMesh structure analysis module of parameterized model for structural mechanics analysis can greatly improve the reliability of ball screw, and it can save a large amount of manpower, material and financial resources, thereby reducing the cost of product. The CAD and CAE could combine for ball screw automatic modeling and structural analysis is the development direction of future product design analysis.This is a subject of a ball screw company which regards general ball screw as the research object. The existing product parameters were combined. The Pro/E and the development tools of Pro/Toolkit function and the introduction of feature that based parametric modeling was used. The ball screw parameter template creation process was analyzed, and then the basic information and the material properties were integrated into the model database, and the database information was called by C language. The HyperMesh structure analyzing module was used to perform the structure mechanics analysis and fatigue life analysis of ball screw. The parts which can not meet the requirement is selected. The parameters was modified and the then feedback to the ball screw parameter design and analysis system, which can the rapidly generate for meeting the strength requirements, thereby the CAD/CAE combination thought of ball screw automatic modeling and analysis is realized.
