Abstract


This dissertation,with linguistic materials from the Middle Ancient Chinese translation of Mahāsāmghika-vinaya,makes an inquiry into vocabulary of Mahāsāmghika-vinaya.It consists of four chapters.Chapter one we elaborate the original idea of this topic,make an introduction of the translator, the research techniques of the thesis,the editions and the historical division of the book and several other questions.Chapter two we describe the general picture of the Buddhism lexicon system of Mahāsāmghika-vinaya.Mahāsāmghika-vinaya contains 1075 Buddhism words,in which there are 714 Buddhism terms and 361 especial words.Chapter three we study specifically bisyllables which character alignments were exchanged in Mahāsāmghika-vinaya.Chapter four we expound the significance of Mahasamghika-vinaya vacabulary study to the revision of large-scale chinese dictionary,the chapter is divided into five aspects:supplement entries,supplement items of an entry,give documented evidence ahead of time,supplement documented evidence and revise explanations.This part has proved in all-round way of Mahasamghika-vinaya vocabulary study to the compilation of Chinese dictionary.
