Abstract

Chinese government has always been putting high emphasis on protecting and promoting women’s rights. In order to achieve gender equality and facilitate women’s rights and benefit, a series of public policies have been enacted by the authority, however, gender inequality remains in many aspects and even tends to be weakened for historical and certain practical reasons. Formal equality masks actual inequality, as most of our existing public policies are established based on physical gender. Even such regulations in very direct connection with women’s rights protection, as "Law on Protection of Rights and Benefits of Women", "Marriage Law", "Labor Law" and "Provisions on Labor Protection of Female Workers", do implicate infringement on women’s rights and ignorance on social gender difference. Therefore, this thesis , from a new point of view-----social gender vision, makesocial gender analysis on our existing policies for women’s rights protection and its entire dynamic operation process ( including enactment, execution, evaluation) to make research on the absence of social gender awareness. The social gender analysis should be applied together with both practice on our existing policies of women’s rights protection and the common problems in daily life, rather than idle talk on theory. We should make detailed analysis on the blind points of social gender and bring up relevant proposals with an aim to achieve actual gender equality, better protect women’s rights, try to construct the public policy system with gender consciousness, ensure the realization of women’s rights, share the fruitful results of sustainable development and promote harmonious development of women and society.
