Abstract


This paper researches on the woman education of Fu Zhou between 1895 and 1912 to show the influence on the female. The influence promotes some changes for women from life to thought: setting up the athletics lessons and no tying up feet etc. bad habits make them healthier. Meanwhile, they advocate self-independence and devote themselves to woman education, and realize their responsibility of national rise and fall. The writing way of thinking and frame in the paper are as follows:ChapterⅠis an introduction to the thesis, which overviews former woman educational research, analyzes the defects of former research. After that, the part points out research directions and breakthroughs, and explains the textual reference and methods in the paper.ChapterⅡis about the background of rising for Nv Xue in Fu Zhou and the development of Nv Xue in 1895-1912.The failure of Jia-Wu war makes "saving the nation to live" become the topic of the era and makes cultivating men become the necessity in the ages. Numerous new schools were built up, and schools of them become a novel modern style. In the period, the female schools are ran by Chinese or foreign churches, and engages in studying abroad.ChapterⅢis a transformation between the traditional and the modern, which mainly discusses the differentiation between traditional Nv Xue and modern Nv Xue, generalizes the curriculum of modern Nv Xue, and summarizes the characteristics of Nv Xue.ChapterⅣis the modern transformation of traditional women, which mainly discusses the changes of life and thought for these Fu Zhou women after accepting education, specially, giving its consideration on the transformation on their thoughts. They become independent, progressive and positive from relying on the men, and become the female of the new era.ChapterⅤis an overall appraisal for modern Nv Xue in Fu Zhou.According to the development of Fu Zhou Nv Xue in 1895-1912, we can conclude : on the one hand, the blooming development of Nv Xue puts significant influence on the women and the society; On the other hand, Nv Xue at that time still has its limitations because of the ages.
