Abstract


With the degree of economic globalization increasing, the exhibition industry has been developed into a new type of modern service trade industry, and it becomes one of the important criteria to measure the internationalization and economic development level of a city. Four exhibition economic zone have been initially formed in China: They are Pearl River Delta zone with Guangzhou as the center and Hong Kong as the leader, Yangtze River Delta zone with Shanghai as the center and the coast and riverside as the two wings, Jingjin zone with Beijing as the center and Tianjin as the edge, and finally Northeast zone with Dalian as the leader and border trade as the support.Shanghai, as the China’ s largest economic center, has seen a steady rise in Customs supervision over the international exhibits. The 2010 Shanghai World Expo is expected to further accelerate the development of exhibition industry, along with providing a very rare opportunity for the Customs House to explore and improve supervision mechanism on the international exhibition. With the rapid development of exhibition industry, Shanghai Customs need to speed up on exploring a new model of supervision over international exhibits to actively respond to the challenges that the 2010 World Expo brings, and to better serve establishment of the Modern China Customs Regime.As close to 2010, miscellaneous preparations for World Expo Shanghai 2010 is busy now. Customs play an important role of the Expo. Customs Clearance efficiency will be evaluated in the BIE written report after Expo close. With opportunity and challenge, Customs works for World Expo Shanghai 2010 must combine Customs and Expo under the demand of the State Customs Conference , adapt to serve for the development of Expo competently. Despite of the shortage of human resources, we actively reform the traditional conception of Customs supervision and control , continuously innovate the mode of Customs supervision and control, integrate all available resources to raise the social benefit by Hi-tech measurements and advanced management policy and style. We shall promote the Customs works for World Expo Shanghai 2010 steadily and orderly. It not only embodies Customs to serve the economy and promote the development, but also roundly proves the building result of the Customs works and human resources.
