Abstract


With the rapid development of global cruise industry, and the increasingly fierce competition between the port cities of cruise tourism, the port city of cruise tourism of competitiveness will become a hot spot of academic research. Influencing factors of competitiveness of port city’s cruise tourism industry and evaluation analysis are the core of the cruise. However, the research on this field currently is relatively scarcity, which is the major reason that I choose this theme.This paper focus on the evaluation studies of competitiveness of port city’s cruise tourism industry. By applying compare advantage and competitive advantage theory to the cruise tourism industry development, and making reference to the evaluation standards which made by Cruise Line International Association and Cruise Lines, then identifies influence factors of competitiveness of port city’s cruise tourism industry, including resources, management, supporting factors and demand factors. Based on the analysis of influence factors, I build a concept model about influence factors and a quantitative evaluation index system. Then I apply principal component analysis, quantitative analysis , qualitative analysis and system analysis, to extend the knowledge space about the quantitative measure methods of influence factors and the importance of it, and to get five principal components. In this principal components, tourism indicators and economic indicators of port city play a decisive role in the evaluation. At the end, I get scores of competitiveness of eight Chinese major coastal port cities of cruise tourism industry.The research strives to make innovation in explaining the concept of competitiveness of port city’s cruise tourism industry, influence factors analysis, and to build a concept modelabout influence factors and a quantitative evaluation index system.This is a complex issue which involves a wide range of subjects, thus further study is quite necessary.
