Abstract


The development of economics in China has made a good achievement since the reform and opening. It can’t be denied that the financial development plays an important role in economic development. On the planning of the old industrial base strategy in the northeast and the belt of the Liaoning coastal economic development, as one of the first coastal and financial open cities, Dalian has made outstanding achievements especially in the financial development.On the background of constructing the international financial center, the regional financial center in Dalian has been implemented, the speed of the financial development gets a comprehensive ascension. Also, the standard of people’s life has improved. The income gap of the urban residents grows when the development of finance improving the people’s life. At present, the analysis between the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents is little in academia. Analyzing the transmission mechanisms in the relationship is realistic since the financial development is concentrated in cities.Analyze the transmission mechanisms theory of the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents on the basis of the research results at home and abroad in the theory of financial development and income distribution, and do empirical research combining with VAR model for the relationship of the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents. At last, put forward the policy suggestions.The paper is divided into five chapters, and the specific contents are as follows:Chapter 1 is the introduction. To begin with the research background, research significance and the structure, it presents the main work and innovation of the study.Chapter 2 mainly analyzes the transmission mechanisms theory of the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents. First, analysis the direct transmission mechanisms between the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents. Second, analysis the indirect transmission mechanisms between the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents on the basis of the economic development. Chapter 3 respectively describes the current situation of the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents in Dalian. It makes statistical analysis in general development situation, banks and non-bank financial institutions about the financial development in Dalian. Also, it analyzes the income gap of the urban residents from overall trend to different urban areas and income groups.Chapter 4 makes the empirical research for the relationship of the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents. On the basis of the second chapter’s introduction, index a control variable and analysis the indirect transmission mechanisms between the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents based on VAR model. The process involves correlation analysis, unit root test, Johansen cointegration test based on VAR model, granger causality test and impulse response analysis and so on.Chapter 5 is the conclusions of the study and policy suggestions, it summarizes the analysis results as follows:the financial development scale can reduce the income gap of the urban residents; the financial development efficiency can enlarge the income gap of the urban residents.But the shock effect of the financial development efficiency to the income gap of the urban residents is not obvious, the shock effect of the income gap of the urban residents to the financial development efficiency is obvious. Then put forward the suitable policy suggestions for the development of Dalian.The innovative methods are as follows. The scope of the previous analysis mainly is national and regional. In order to make the study conclusions more actual and policy suggestions more feasible for the development of economics, the paper will make scope further refinement. It selects the typical coastal open city Dalian as the scope of this paper, and analyzes the relationship of the financial development and the income gap of the urban residents.
