Objective: Through the establishment of an animal model of hypoxic-ischemic piglet,discussing early diffusion weighted imaging (DWI),and apparent diffuse coefficient (ADC)’Imaging features and the time-variation Of them. to provide early diagnosis and prognosis of clinical reference for neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).Methods:3-day-old piglets(n=30) randomly divided into 3 groups: group A (normal control group,n= 4), grpup B (sham operation group,n= 4),group C (HIE group,n=8). Hypoxic-ischemic group bilateral carotid artery ligation, put into the oxygen tank(For 4% oxygen, 96% nitrogen gas mixture 2 L / min, sustained 30min).By GE SIGNA 1.5TMR / magnetic resonance scanner, quadrature head coil, DWI checked at different times(0h,1h,3h,6h,9h,24h). DWI data was proeessing by functool in GE Advantage workstation AW4.4 to get ADC maps and ADC values. 24h after hypoxia-ischemia,Put the piglets to death, dislodged the brains and made pathology slice.Result:1. Behavioral changes: The normal control group and the sham group were no abnormal changes; HIE groups were observing the behaviors and the neurological system signs,for example dysphoria, scream, upturned tail, twitching limbs and so on.2. Changes in MRI images:normal control group and sham group animals DWI and ADC map no abnormal signal change; HIE group animals appear high signal after hypoxia-ischemia 15min in DWI image, and the lesions beeame more and more localized gradually with the time passing on. ADC maps and DWI images appear low-signal areas corresponding to. ADC values of lesions of the central area decreased,except 1h and 24h of HIE groups, among other groups P<0.05.3. Pathology: The normal control group and the sham group were no abnormal pathology changes; HIE groups :Hippocampus,lateral periventri- cular area brown Granule cells increased in the Pathology Slice of HIE groups.Conclusion: DWI imaging combine with ADC map can be early detection of hypoxic-ischemic lesions.
