Abstract


With the development of contrast agents and new contrast-specific ultrasound techniques, the ultrasound imaging of the liver has been dramatically improved. Contrast agents are based on gas microbubbles stabilized with different substances. When injected intravenously, microbubbles pass though the pulmonary bed and not only enhanced the Doppler signal and improve the gray-scale imaging using specific imaging sequences, but also the microvessels and the tissue perfusion can be evaluated in real time. Different liver lesions showed different enhancement patterns of the contrast-enhanced ultrasound , which provide the basis for the differential diagnosis of the liver tumors. Double-mode grey scale imaging can locate lesions accurately , and observe the enhancement of lesions easily all the time especially in the arterial phase.Therefore,double-mode grey contrast enhanced ultrasound has good prospect for clinical use .In addition,the type of time-intensity curve and acoust ic quant ified parameters of CEUS were beneficial to differentiate the focal liver lesions. CEUS is more accurate in identifying the size , shape and invasive range of HCC before RFA , therefore shows clinical importance in ablation range design and selection of treatment protocol. CEUS can accurately discriminate the coagulation necrosis from residual tumors after RFA in a few days, and detect benign periablational enhancement. It is an effective method to adequately assess the suitable treatment of a given tumor. There was no significant difference in sensitivity , speciality and accuracy between CEUS and cont rast enhanced CT.
