Abstract


ObjectiveTo investigate the etiological factors of ureteral obstruction in renal transplantation and discuss the effective treatment.MethodsSeven renal transplant recipients with ureteral obstruction admitted in our hospital between January 2007 and March 2009 were included.The diagnosis of ureteral obstruction was established by clinical manifestation(hypourocrinia to various extent with or without elevated serum creatinine) and imaging technology(B mode ultrasonography and MRU),Surgeries were operated to reconstruct urinary drainage.ResultsThe causes of transplant ureteral obstruction were identified in operation.Stoma stenosis of ureter-bladder were identified in 4 cases,ureter compression by surrounding scar or inflammatory tissue in 2 cases,twisting of long ureter graft in 1 case,both of the up two causes in 1 case.Transplant ureters and bladders were re-anastomosed in 4 cases, transplant ureters and native ureters were anastomosed in 3 cases,and release the adhesion surrounding the ureters.All of the grafts retrieved good function beyond the reconstructing urinary drainage.ConclusionThe etiology of ureteral obstruction is complicate in clinical settings.Combination of clinical manifestation and imaging technology are necessary in the establishment of the correct diagnosis.Surgery is an effective method to solve the obstruction.
