Abstract


Objective To study the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression in benign biliary scar , and to investigate its role in a benign scar formation mechanism . Collected scarring of the bile ducts of 14 patients with benign bile duct stricture patients , with 10 cases of normal bile duct as a control , the light microscope microscopic structural characteristics of the two groups in HE staining ; Immunohistochemical EliVision TM assay strength and positioning of the expression of VEGF in of benign biliary scar and normal bile duct ; semi-quantitative analysis and image analysis system detects VEGF expression and microvessel density ( MVD ) . Results of light microscopy : the benign biliary scar tissue collagen fibers arranged in dense clutter . Immunohistochemistry : normal bile duct VEGF positive rate of 40% positive rate of 92.9 % , the scars of benign biliary VEGF expression of VEGF in normal bile ducts and benign bile duct scar positive rate difference was significant ( P <0.05 ) . Normal bile duct of VEGF \0.01). VEGF average gray normal bile duct (152.71 ± 3.84), benign biliary scar VEGF average gray difference was statistically significant ( 140.53 ± 5.35 ) , the benign biliary scar and normal bile duct VEGF \(P <0.01). Normal bile duct group MVD (11.68 ± 3.49), benign bile duct scar group MVD (20.99 ± 4.05); of benign biliary scar and normal bile duct MVD difference was statistically significant ( P <0.01 ) . Conclusion benign biliary scar tissue in the morphological characteristics of chronic inflammation persists, excessive deposition of collagen fibers . The benign biliary scar VEGF expression , increased angiogenesis . VEGF may in benign biliary scar formation mechanism plays an important role .
