Abstract


At present,biodiversity conservation especially for endangered species has been focused widely by international society.China is a key region of the world where biological diversity reflects in 15000-18000 endemic plants.Enough attentions haven’t been put onto these species and effective conservation to endangered species is very poor.In-situ conservation(In-situ)and ex-situ conservation(Ex-situ)are the main measures to wild plant conservation in our country. Because of the limitation of In-situ,it will necessitate the development of Ex-situ that getting effective protection,enlarging population size and increasing ecological benefits.China currently takes measures from In-situ to Ex-situ to protect wild plant,and promotes In-situ throughEx-situ.Botanical garden(BG)is the significant platform for Ex-situ.Besides Ex-situ,BG has the function of scientific research,exploitation and utilization of wild plant resources and scientific education.Most scientific researches for rare and endangered plant at home or abroad have been carried out in BG and have got good results..Research have explored from the following four aspects:(1)To investigate current status of Ex-situ in foreign BG;(2)To investigate current status of Ex-situ on wild plants under special state control(WPSC)in China;(3)To investigate and analyze status of WPSC carrying out Ex-situ in BG;(4)To make plan for Ex-situ on WPSC.Facing more and more heavier task on wild plant Ex-situ,Ex-situ is not traditionally work like planting,introduction and domestication.It is necessary to train technicians on relative concept,theory and methods,enhance international cooperation and communication to increase study level and improve effectiveness in wild plant conservation.Biodiversity Ex-situ is a public welfare closely connecting national economic construction and ecological environment,which is hard to produce economic benefit directly.It needs(strong supports from government,society and even internationality,and more methods to raise funds.
