Abstract


Residence is one of the most basic needs of human beings. With the rapid process of urbanization, our national residence development has achieved great success, working out the living problems of many households. As people’s living standard improves, they begin to pursue the comfort and culture of living environment instead of the primitive living need at the beginning. Influenced by the Russian“neighborhood unit”pattern and the modernism“functional division”theories, the defects of our living community loom ever larger, which goes against the multi-dimensional living requirements of modern people. Many problems, such as the conflict of“lack of humanizing space”, are yet to be solved.This paper aims to challenge the small living community pattern in our city planning and summarizes the features of the community pattern: the scale is too large; the pattern is monotonous, which takes on a enclosed pattern; the indifferent relations between the neighbors make the city street dull and lack of diversity; traffic jam and homogenous architecture, etc. this paper also points out that all these defects bring about many problems to our city development. This paper sets out to explore the three disciplines of human living environment—architecture, city planning and landscape design, analyzes, in conjunction of our national conditions, the deep reasons for the formulated living community design, discussed the livable technical index formulated by the scientific evaluation system of livable city in“scientific evaluation standard of livable city”, and from the perspective of physical environment system, summarizes the multi-dimensional construct strategy from the following aspects: urban living residence scale, community layout, the complete set of facilities, road and transport structure and function, residence type etc, and works out the many problems of the community pattern. This paper also proposes the solution scheme of the adaptable livable community plan and construction approach, so as to create a wonderful, civilized, harmonious and livable community.
