Abstract


Cymbidium is a Chinese traditional famous flower.It has a long history in china and is loved by most Chinese.In recent years,cymbidium trades are flourishing and leading a huge destroy on cymbidium resources.Presently most cymbidium trades are private and their form,characteristic, market status,trend of price has not been analysis and researched systematically.With the foundation of fieldwork and collection of data online,this research focuses on market and resource of cymbidium, including trade form,price mechanism,typical market and price analysis of cymbidium.This research also focuses on damage condition and method of cymbidium resources conservation.The results are as follows:①The trade forms of cymbidium are orchid exhibitions,domestic factories,professional companies,bazaars in country and flourishing trade on the net.②Price mechanism of cymbidium still comes from Chinese traditional theory of petal and stance..Decision of cymbidium price must follow these principles:cultivar,stance,amount,peculiar, color,fragrant,petal.But cymbidium price is also regulated by relationship between supply and demand,circulation,public opinion and so on.So appreciation principle is just a reference. Cymbidium reproduces slowly and it can’t be large-scale produced,this is the root cause why cymbidium price stay away from mass consumption.③Make an analysis on trade condition of Heqing in the last three years.Trade amount in 2007 is bigger than that of 2008,and 2008 is bigger than 2006.Trade sum in 2006 is bigger than that of 2007, and 2007 is bigger than 2008.Prices of main cultivars in 2007 get a decrease of 3.5 times from 2006 on average.Prices of main cultivars in 2008 get a decrease of 3.3 times from 2007 on average.On trade amount and sum,there is a maximum around January to March and another maximum comes at. about October.Cymbidium market has changed from "inverted pyramid" which rare cultivars make up greatly in market trade to "pyramid" which mass consumption cultivars make up greatly in market trade.This is beneficial for both cymbidium market and lovers of cymbidium.④The main problem of cymbidium resources is the huge damage.One of the most important reasons is that the flourishing cymbidium markets destroy cymbidium resources.We should take these methods for cymbidium conservation:constitute and consummate the law and statute of cymbidium protection;take widely propaganda and education of cymbidium resources;increase ex-situ and in-situ conservation of cymbidium;make researches on breeding and reproduction technologies;put great investments on protection of cymbidium germplasm resources and cultivation of talent people in this area;develop industrialization of cymbidium.⑤The key way to develop cymbidium market and protect cymbidium resources is industrialization of cymbidium.
