Abstract

Objective To investigate the fibroin - chitosan hybrid film prepared nerve catheter for the feasibility of the facial nerve defects . Adult male Japanese rabbits 21 , 1.5 ~ 2.0kg. Under sterile conditions, cut off bilateral facial nerve buccal branch , made ??of 10mm facial nerve buccal branch defect model . Fibroin - chitosan hybrid film made ??into a nerve conduit to repair the the rabbit right side of the facial nerve defect , as the experimental group ; left side with flip the autologous nerve repair as a control group . Postoperative 4,6,8 W line neurophysiological check ; 2, 4, 6, 8 W microscope observation of gross morphology , then drawn HE and toluidine blue staining , observed after the repair of facial nerve regeneration in different periods , and apply image analysis system, the number of axons and myelin thickness of the different periods ; independent samples t test results using the the SPSS for windows13.0 statistical analysis software , inspection level a = 0.05 , P <0.05 significant difference . Results fibroin - chitosan film prepared and applied to the repair of facial nerve defects . Postoperative the 8W filament hormone - chitosan nerve conduit remains the normal tubular morphology . 4W can be seen when the nerve fibers in the nerve conduit through . Over time , the successful regeneration of facial nerve . Nerve conduction velocity gradually faster , increase in number of axons , myelin thickening . 8W fibroin - chitosan conduit repair group the average regenerated nerve conduction velocity ( 27.5 ± 3.00 ) m / s (( ? ) ± s, the same below ) , and the autologous nerve repair group ( 29.9 ± 2.43m / s ) difference was not statistically significant ( P > 0.05 ) ; 8W silk fibroin - chitosan the catheter group of renewable when the average thickness of the myelin sheath ( 12.71 ± 0.42 ) pm , average axon count ( 741.80 ± 49.92 ) , autologous nerve repair group ( 12.34 ± 0.43 ; 748.60 ± 80.09 ) the difference was not statistically significant ( P > 0.05 ) . Conclusion The fibroin and chitosan material by mutual portmanteau film , prepared nerve conduit repair of facial nerve defects . Master fibroin - Preparation of chitosan film , the regeneration of the facial nerve at different times . That the facial nerve defects regeneration of the the SFCS nerve catheter can play a role , which can effectively guide nerve regeneration , is expected for the repair of peripheral nerve defects .
