Abstract


Highly educated women are the women who will obtain or have already obtained a master’s degree or doctorate. These women experience such a long learning period, that they misse the best time of love and marriage, and become older single youth. With the group of highly educated women becoming larger and larger, the problem of their love and marriage gradually comes out, and attracts people’s attention. Highly educated women are elites of the society, so solving this problem will help them make greater contributions to our country, and this is an important part of building a harmonious society.As love and marriage involve both women and men, men are the other half of the marriage, their views and opinions have a significant impact on marriage. In view of this, this study tries to explore the cause of highly educated women’s problem of love and marriage from the male side. From the perspective of exchange resources-power, this research carried out a survey, and chose male college students as objects to study whether they are willing to accept highly educated women as spouses and why. The results indicate:1. Most male college students are willing to accept highly educated women as spouses.2. The male college students speak highly of highly educated women overally, and give a high appraisal of their social economic condition, but give a low appraisal of their physiological condition.3. The male college students who speak more highly of the women’s physiological、character、intellectual、ability condition and overall condition, are more willing to accept them as spouses.4. Seemingly, the male college students think husband and wife are equal in marital power, but in fact they want to have more power than their wives in family.5. The male college students who want to have more power than their wives in family, hope that they have more resources than them.6. The male college students who want to have more power than their wives in family, are more unwilling to accept highly educated women as spouses.
