With the development of economy globalization and trade liberalization,through several negotiations of multilateral trade and under the supervision of WTO, traditional trade barriers are gradually restricted.Therefore,for protecting human health,environment and consumer benefits,all countries especially for the developed countries seek to new trade barriers and protect its own markets.Technical barriers to trade(TBT) are becoming more and more popular.As a new means of trade protectionism,TBT have been frequently used by the developed countries,and become a effective means to prevent other countries’ products from entering into their markets,especially for the developing countries.As the third largest trade nation in the world,under the background of global financial crisis and the rise of trade protectionism,China’s export is affected obviously by TBT.And as the largest export province in China,GD’s foreign trade recently has had a serious impact resulted from TBT.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to strengthen the research on the GD’s effects from TBT and strategies.Therefore,focusing on this topic,firstly the paper defines systematically the meaning,main features,and characteristics of TBT,introduces the current TBT of the developed countries,and studies the operation mechanism and double effects of TBT and reasons of generating TBT.And then,through using a great number of dates and some specific examples and analyzing the status & trait of GD export trade,this paper analyzes mostly the influence TBT bringing to GD and the causes of GD suffering TBT.On this basis,finally the author put forward some suitable strategies to in response to TBT,from the perspective of government,industry associations and enterprise,hoping to bring helps for the development of GD foreign trade.
