Abstract


Topic detection and tracking (Topic Detection and Tracking, TDT) as an emerging natural language processing research direction , its research mainly related to natural language processing, information retrieval, information filtering , and other fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning , is a interdisciplinary areas subject . Topic detection and tracking aimed at an applied research organization and use of event-based information is also proposed in order to deal with the problem of information overload . TDT is found in the newswire and broadcast news sources such as news data stream topics and topics related content linked to technology . Since the TDT concept has been proposed in 1996 , many research institutions at home and abroad are involved in this technology . TDT research has aroused wide attention from researchers at home and abroad , has gradually become a hot research topic in natural language processing . In this paper, the form of text and English news flow was treated conducted intensive research on the topic detection task . We first introduced the concept of topic detection and tracking technology , and the development trend in recent years . Then focuses on a similar model and similarity calculation method . This paper analyzes the word variants and acronyms topic detection and tracking , and identification method based on a combination of morphological and semantic word variants and acronyms . Difficult to distinguish between \Experiments show that solve the problem of \Explore the time information in the topic detection , research and implemented based on the the topic duration of dynamic threshold model , and combined with the characteristics of a ratio method to select the most similar topic coverage . In English corpus experiments show that the dynamic threshold model based on the the topic duration of dynamic threshold model with the use of the ratio method greatly improves the overall performance of the system .
