Abstract


The survival of our world is awash in a variety of colors . Each object has its own color . Demonstrated its importance in Chinese and English Color Words . As an important human experience , color has aroused the interest of many experts and scholars . In Western , colors, words have been extensively studied . In about 2,500 years ago, the Western , the color word is the first systematic study . Since then, many scholars to study from a different perspective color words , such as philosophy , anthropology , ethnology , psychology , linguistics, sociolinguistics and so on . From a linguistic point of view to study the color word can be traced back to the assumption of a sociolinguistics Lakoff from the viewpoint of cognitive linguistics . At the same time, the study of metaphor has a long history , so far, the most state-of-the-art theory from cognitive linguistics . Color perception and cognition social linguist from a cognitive perspective . In the process of learning English , I found that the color metaphor frequently appear in the language of its meaning in different cultures with different . This is a worthy of study and research space issues , this paper to do a comparison of the color words in English metaphors . Data from the statistics in this article , we can see the color of the frequency of use of the metaphor , and British culture , the metaphor of the color words the existence of similarities and differences . This Similarities and Differences from cognitive and cultural perspectives to analyze and find out why.
