Abstract


Chinese proverb is a pervasive kind of idiom in Chinese, is the national language essence, and is the masses long-term production, experience of life’s summary and the wisdom crystallization. And Chinese proverb uses various rhetoric means in its forming process, in the process of spreading and using, these rhetoric means play a unique interaction to its located context, caused this people’s proverb directly highlighted difference from other idiom forms. This thesis make exhausted-like summary and the analysis through the rhetoric method which for Chinese proverb’s meaning, the characteristic, the function and usage that has carried on, has analyzed in Chinese proverb through the example many kinds of rhetoric means utilization and had pointed out the different rhetoric category’s rhetoric means’ utilization caused the different rhetoric characteristic which the proverb produced, elaborated in with emphasis the unique relations between the proverb rhetoric means utilization and in the context and the influence on the expressions the proverb the rhetoric utilization expressed.
