Abstract


With the continuous development of globalization, the interdependence between countries strengthen, soft power become more and more become the factors restricting the development of a country. In this context, public diplomacy for the development of a country's soft power, especially improve the image of the country plays a very important role. Relative public diplomacy and traditional diplomacy, the main object of population is foreign people rather than to foreign governments, so the emphasis of the public diplomacy and traditional diplomacy also differ, it is through advocacy, communication and so on a series of measures to achieve mutual understanding and affect or change the foreign people to their point of view, which may put pressure on another country's national policy. Although the Beijing Olympic Games is a global sports game, but it can serve as China's public diplomacy activities, and for China's national image promotion to the effect that cannot ignore. So this article will focus on the Beijing Olympic Games as a case study, from the Angle of public diplomacy to analyze China hopes to shape the image of the country, as well as the Olympic Games to improve the image of the country play a role. Finally, hope to be able to make an overall evaluation to China's public diplomacy, and put forward some opinions and Suggestions.
