Abstract


Based on the current vigorous development of China’s city newspapers including City Express, WCC Daily, Chengdu Commercial Daily, Chinese Business View and New Culture Daily, this paper mainly studies the news writing technique and operational means of some famous media in China. After one-year study of the origin of China’s city newspapers, of the formation of news writing style, and of the existing characteristics and problems and the orientation for the future development, the author analyses the current development of China’s city newspapers, value orientation of news writing of city newspapers, and the changes in news writing caused by the value orientation and the specific features of news writing style under the new situation; and the author finds out the existing problems and the root of these problems through the research of those specific features; and finally make a definite judgement on the trend of news writing style of China’s city newspapers in the future.Researches found that at present the writing style of the city newspaper as a whole shows nine important features, namely, the writing of regular news tends to be irregular; the choices of material tends to be alike; headlines tends to be shaking; the coverage of the important events tends to be deeper; the feature of writing tens to be story-telling; the angle of the coverage tends to be unique; the lead of the news tends to be shocking and attractive; the wording tends to be common; the plot tends to be moving. And the main characteristics of the writing style of the three important news pattern are, the novelty of the social news, service-orientedness of current news and instructiveness of economic news. Besides, targeted at the main problems existing in the city news and combined with the advanced news wirting at home and abroad, this paper gives a creative description of the trend of city news writing style in the future.
