Objective: To by retrospective of cN0 oral squamous cell carcinoma clinical data analysis , the study of oral squamous cell carcinoma to cervical lymph node occult metastases law and related factors , to determine whether you need to line the same period in neck treatment . MATERIALS AND METHODS: From January 2007 to March 2010 a total of 160 cases of patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the inpatient treatment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the First Affiliated Hospital , Zhejiang University School of Medicine , and all cases were concomitant neck dissection . Statistical analysis and neck occult metastases age, gender , disease duration , location , size , and pathological staging , select explore cN0 oral squamous cell carcinoma neck metastatic pattern and clinical treatment way . Data processing using SPSS software and chi-square test correlation a defined P lt ; 0.05 when the existence of significant differences . Results : of 160 cases cN0 oral squamous cell carcinoma patients , the highest incidence of tongue cancer , accounting for 35% of all cancer . Total occult metastasis rate was 28.1% , the the tongue cancer occult metastases highest rate , 33.9% ; 2 cases of contralateral metastasis , the incidence is about 4.4% . Oral squamous cell cervical lymph node metastasis rate of gender, age , disease duration and predilection obvious statistical significance ( P gt ; 0.05) , and the size of the primary tumor , the presence of pathological differentiation significantly related to sex ( P lt ; 0.05) . Conclusion : in cN0 oral cancer neck occult metastases and the size of the lesion , the presence of pathological differentiation significant correlation was no significant correlation with gender, age , disease duration , disease site . The larger the tumor volume , the higher its occult metastasis rate , and when the maximum tumor diameter gt ; 1cm , neck line actively ; well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma squamous cell carcinoma metastasis is low relative to other poor degree of differentiation , and thus other than the well-differentiated oral squamous cell carcinoma positive line neck .
