Abstract

Purpose With the fixed appliance technology development , low friction and light force adjusting technique more and more attention . The purpose of this study is to investigate based on the concept design , low friction and light force appliance with traditional ligation MBT straight wire appliance tooth tooth movement characteristics of the treatment process , to provide a reference for clinical application . 2004-2009 from Tianjin Medical University Stomatological Hospital of Orthodontics treatment cases selected before the double arch protrusion patients 40 people , including 16 males and 24 females , aged 15 - 20 years old , mean age 17.5 ± 2.8 years . 20 cases of low friction and light force appliance anchorage enhancement measures . MBT appliance 20 cases , the use of extraoral arch anchorage enhancement measures . Before and after treatment the x-ray head positioning lateral radiographs taken of patients , sentinel , measuring 19 measurements , and the measurement results of two independent samples t-test . Between the results of the application of low friction the light force appliance group with the application of traditional ligation - the MBT appliance group X cephalometric measurements: bone indicators ∠ SNA ∠ SNB , ∠ ANB , ∠ MP -FH Before and after treatment in this group , between the two groups after treatment were no significant changes , the difference was not statistically significant ( P gt; 0.05 ) . UI -SN , dental indicators ∠ ∠ UI- PP ∠ L1 -MP , ∠ U1- L1 , UIA - PTV the UIE -PTV , LIE -PTV the LIA -PTV , UM- PTV , LM -PTV before and after treatment in this group between both significant sex change , the difference was statistically significant ( P lt; 0.05 ) between the two groups after the treatment did not significantly change the difference was not statistically significance ( P gt ; 0.05) . Soft tissue indicators UL-EP, LL-EP, Z angle before and after treatment in this group are significant sex change , the difference was statistically significant ( P lt; 0.05 ) between the two groups after the treatment did not significantly change , the difference was not statistically significant (P gt; 0.05). Conclusion The low friction and light force appliance therapy the double arch protrusion patients did not take measures to enhance anchorage conditions , you can still get better anchorage control and front teeth torque control , adduction of the upper and lower front teeth soft tissue profile improved significantly .
