Abstract

Sun Huifen has gone through the creative course of more than twenty years since her maiden works was published in 1982. She has been concerned about the fate of rural women since 1982; however, her literary creation was not categorized into the realm of“female writing”. Although this is related with her Low-key and peaceful writing posture, what is even more is our deviation in understanding“female writing”.The women writers such as Chen Ran and Lin Bai who have been the mains Speakers of female writing through the 1990s brings the huge development for the feminine literature and gradually becomes the scale of“female writing”. There is no denying that these prevailing“female writing”highlights the female gender awareness and principal consciousness, so women and female writing were received unprecedented attention in 1990s. However, when“female writing”goes along with this direction, we found that the text worthy of appreciation seems fewer and fewer while the neglected but valuable ones became more and more, and“female writing”gradually goes to a narrow path such as“elite”and“whisper”and“sexual antagonism”and so on. In a sense, a lot of authoresses are good at describing modern urban women but paying little attention to rural women, so the majority of rural women become“the silent majority”due to lack of consciousness and resistance. The appearance that lower class of society in social change should be concerned but neglected not only show prevailing feminism writer during the 1990s lack of experience in living in rural areas but also our deviation in understanding“female writing”. Her description of rural women are excluded from those acknowledged female writing for the lack of obvious feminism.Although Sun Huifen is not a feminist and even not describes rural women specifically, she has had her ideas, feelings and thoughts melted into those unconsciously. There is a broader base in her writing for familiarity with the countryside and the experience in city. Different from the way of“private writing”, the way Sun Huifen describes in is displaying the female in the long and dull routine and in the transformation of modern society, considering the relationship between them, integrating her thoughts about rural daily life and city and countryside with the reflections on the fate of women and exploring the pursuit of rural life and the affect of social change or male groups. It is an integrated vision that not only breakthrough the inclination to elite, whisper and sexual antagonism in Chinese contemporary female writing but also embodies the realistic significance of literary works for expressing humanistic care for women of lower class in social transformation .The author will begin with the definition of the female writing when discussing the significance of Sun Huifen’s creation and discuss how to bring rural literature into the scope of feminine literature and how to participate in the development of feminine literature ,so that we can have a more objective evaluation of the diligent writer.
