Abstract

Objective To investigate gender systemic scleroderma (systemic sclerosis, SSc) patients in the clinical manifestations and laboratory findings aspects of similarities and differences . Methods A retrospective analysis of 52 cases of hospitalized patients with SSc clinical manifestations, laboratory data , in 19 male patients and 33 female patients were compared. Results Men proportion of patients with diffuse SSc ( 73.68% ) was significantly higher than female SSc patients (30.30%) (P lt; 0.01). Male patients with SSc sausage-like means a change in rate ( 36.84% ) than female SSc patients (66.67%) (P lt; 0.05). Male SSc patients with urinary protein positive rate ( 50.00% ) , lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) increased rate ( 50.00% ) were higher than female patients with SSc positive rate of urinary protein (22.58%), LDH increased rate ( 21.21% ) ( P lt; 0.05). Male SSc patients with rheumatoid factor (RF) positive rate was 0 , antinuclear antibody (ANA) positive rate ( 57.89% ) , anti-ENA antibodies (ENA) positive rate ( 43.75% ) were lower than in female patients with SSc RF positive rate ( 28.00%), ANA -positive rate (87.10%), ENA positive rate ( 74.19% ) . Conclusion male patients with diffuse SSc high proportion of women is about 2 times . Meanwhile, men are more vulnerable SSc patients with impaired renal function , should be vigilant. But ANA, ENA these immunological indicators positive rate is low, is not conducive to the early detection of disease.
