Abstract


Background:Percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)is an importantmethod of treating coronary heart disease. The security, and immediate and long-term outcomes of stentingin unprotected left main coronary artery(LMCA)by transradial approach have always been people’s attention.Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficacy of stenting in unprotected LMCA via 6F guiding catheter by transradial approach.Methods and results:Retrospective analysis of 61 patients from January 2008 to December 2009 who stenting in unprotected left main coronary arteryvia 6F guiding catheter by transradial approach,44-87 (66.03±10.02) years old. There were 40 cases with hypertension,14 caseswith diabetes mellitus, and smoking in 22 cases. The left ventricularejection fraction of patients were 28-86 (62.96±12.15)%, and creatinine were 44-130 (82.92±18.30) umol/L.Altogether 67 stents were successfully implanted into LMCA in 61 patients without serious complication during the procedure and in-hospital. The patients were followed up for 9~34 (16.25±5.92) months. MACE developed in 6 cases (9.8%), including 4 cases(6.6%) of target vessel revascul-arization and 2 death(3.3%). MACE in patients whose Syntax score≤32was significantly lower than patients with >32 score, P=0.036.Conclusion:Stenting in unprotected LMCA via 6F guiding catheter by transradial approach is safe and feasible, with good short and long-term outcomes. Patients in Syntaxlow-risk group(≤32) have better prognosis.
