Abstract


Objective: To investigate the general anesthesia and maxillofacial surgery patient plasma β - amyloid 1-40 [ of Aβ ( 1-40) ] and nitric oxide products (NOx) concentration of elderly patients with postoperative cognitive dysfunction (postoperative the impact of cognitive dysfunction, POCD) . Methods: 60 patients with ASA Ⅰ ~ Ⅱ grade , aged 30 to 85 -year-old patient , the deadline for maxillofacial malignant tumor or fracture surgery . 60 patients were divided into old age group (30 patients , aged 60 to 85 years old) and young adult group (30 patients , aged 30 to 55 years old ) . All included patients in one day preoperative and postoperative 1 ~ 7d Mini Mental State Examination Questionnaire (mini-mental status examination, MMSE) neuropsychological testing . And in each neuropsychological tests to take blood plasma Aβ (1-40) and NOx concentration was measured . RESULTS: Postoperative elderly group of patients occurred the POCD 11 patients , 2 patients in the younger group POCD . POCD after each time point plasma NOx and Aβ (1-40) concentration has increased compared with preoperative occurred in the two groups of patients , the elderly group than in the younger group increased more significantly persistent ( P lt ; 0.05 ). Compared with non - POCD patients , the POCD patient postoperative plasma Aβ (1-40) and NOx concentrations significantly persistent ( P lt; 0.05 ) . Conclusion : In elderly patients than in young adult patients after surgery are more likely to POCD; the postoperative patient plasma Aβ (1-40) and NOx concentration continued to maintain at a high level may result in elderly patients after one of the reasons of the occurrence of POCD ; plasma Aβ (1-40) and the NOx concentration can occur as elderly patients after the POCD the warning indicators? also need to take further results of clinical studies of the multi-center , larger samples to be judged .
