Abstract


The purpose of understanding the patients in the perioperative nurse-patient communication needs and real-life experience, to explore the status of clinical nurse-patient communication and related reasons, to take effective countermeasures for all levels of care managers and clinical care workers, to improve the quality of care provided in accordance with . Method of this study phenomenological qualitative research, the purpose of the sampling method, individual semi-structured in-depth interviews of Wuhan City, a hospital 20 have been accepted surgery of patients to understand and record them during hospitalization of nursing suffering communication needs and subjective experience. To collate the information collected and analyzed to extract the theme. Results through data analysis, summarized in three themes: 1 Topic: Wai-operative patients information needs and emotional reactions 1.1 the majority of patients with perioperative strong message needs: including disease diagnosis, surgical procedures, postoperative rehabilitation, prognosis effect, the cost of treatment and hospitalization time. Patients access to information and diverse, some patients said the information associated with the disease, treatment, surgery is not provided by the nurses. 1.2 perioperative patients various emotional responses: anxiety, fear, dazed mood, helplessness, and the psychology of blind optimism. Some patients expressed the hope that the nurses psychological support for patients most in need of the support of their loved ones. 2 Topic: perioperative patients communicate awareness of the subjective experience of nurse-patient communication 2.1 nurses indifferent respondents repeatedly mentioned the communication the nurses only responsible for the completion of their work, do not attach importance to patients. 2.2 nurse-patient communication frequency few respondents generally referred to the nurse-patient communication little or no communication. 2.3 communicate the message is not enough respondents believed that the nurses and the patients with preoperative mission more routine, the information provided is not comprehensive. Postoperative patients failed to provide sufficient information and guidance. 2.4 Nurses communication skills insufficient respondents mentioned nurses inappropriate language and nonverbal behavior to bring their own adverse psychological experience. 3 topics: perioperative patients of the nurse-patient relationship and expectations of different educational backgrounds, different ages, different experiences of patients on the evaluation of the nurse-patient relationship is not the same. Patients of the nurse-patient relationship and the level of expectations of the nurse-patient relationship. Patients have lower expectations of the nurse-patient relationship, the higher nurse-patient relationship, and vice versa. Conclusions in the perioperative period, different patients have different information needs and emotional support needs, these needs are not the concern of nurses, nurses did not really patients as a unique, physiological, psychological and social needs of the overall human beings. Nurse-patient communication is not done to the patient-centered, can not meet the needs of patients. The overall perioperative nursing a mere formality, the modern nurses diversified role function is not well represented. Nurse managers at all levels should take effective measures to strengthen the overall care philosophy to guide the accurate positioning of the role of nurses; rational allocation of human resources, to ensure the quality of care; strengthening of in-service education of nurses, focusing on the communication skills of nurses training. Allowing nurses to really become a good communicator and coordinator, to provide better services for patients.
