Abstract


Backwash effect refers to the testing of teachers to teach and students learn the impact. University of CET is chaired by the Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, under the leadership of the National Committee of the University of CET designed and developed jointly with the Ministry of Education Examination Center of the implementation of large-scale standardized tests. Its purpose is to accurately measure of college students' English language ability, for the realization of College English Curriculum goals to play an active role. Since 2005, the examinations in the examination and other aspects of the content and form of major reforms, these reforms fully implemented in 2007. English language knowledge and language skills, including two aspects, and college students are CET direct participants and affected persons, so from the perspective of the students on the five basic skills CET Backwash of great significance. In this study, from the student's perspective CET on five basic skills synchronic and diachronic Backwash. The researchers used a questionnaire-based, supplemented by interviews with the research methods. Study included two parts: the first part is the 2010 schools in the four samples collected from 130 questionnaires were four students were six students and 130 questionnaires were conducted when the study; second part is the 2008, 2009 and 2010 in a sample collected from 145 school students were four papers and 137 questionnaires were six students diachronic study. Through the above two parts of this study to answer the following questions: 1) after the reform CET students five basic skills which were produced when the backwash effect? ??2) reformed CET five basic skills for students Backwash whether change over time? studies show that regardless of when or from a diachronic perspective, CET College English five basic skills for generating positive backwash effect is greater than the negative backwash effect. From the synchronic point of view, most of the students associated with the five basic skills who agree with the attitude of the reform measures, and that most of the reform measures CET five basic skills training for its positive impact than a negative impact. CET to promote the \term basic skills teaching activities; students aware of the importance of improving listening and speaking ability. However, the students 'listening teaching materials and the completion of the fourth book on the five basic skills and students' training time invested indicate CET on five basic skills students have a certain negative impact. Although the students aware of the importance of speaking ability, but still spend most of their time in the CET in English learning scores higher proportion of listening and reading questions above. In addition, the students themselves, learning and social environment that affect students learning English major factor, CET is only one aspect. From the diachronic perspective, CET five basic skills for students produced a positive backwash effect lasted, and some of which backwash effect change over time. Specific features: three years after the reform, the students believe that the positive impact is greater than its negative effects; Over time, students' listening and speaking skills investment of time increased. Finally, according to the results of CET reform of college English teaching and students learning English provides some reference suggestions.
