Abstract

Pursuing sustained economic growth is a main target of carrying out economy activities in all countries. So far, the increasing speed of GDP is a basic signs of Judging good or bad economic situation and the effectiveness of the government’s economic policy in the international communities. Since reforming and opening up, Chinese economic development has made remarkable achievements, and achieving high growth in GDP, but, we must notice that the cost of which including the waste of resources, environmental pollution, urban-rural income gap, slowly raise of living standard and so on. The rapid growth of GDP has not brought about the rapid growth of national welfare. The fundamental goal of economic growth is human all-round development. There will be real meaning that economic growth must be translated into upgrading the level of benefits of the overwhelming majority of residents. A single indicator GDP has become a kind of representation, which cover up a lot of substantive things, can not reflect a country’s level of economic development accurately. However, there is no more important than the GDP of the economic indicators to reflect the level of economic development. In order to make up the inadequacy of a single GDP indicator, this paper provide a reference for improving the national economic accounting system and measure Chinese economic development more scientifically and reasonably, it is necessary to evaluate comprehensively and analyze the quality of GDP.In this paper, the first and second chapter discussed the Background and significance of the study, reviewed the research on GDP at home and abroad, which provided a theoretical and methodological background for the follow-up research; The third Chapter, by understanding the connotation of quality, product quality and GDP, defined GDP Quality as the effectiveness of the output, the output is that the economy social produced final product by the use of factors of production in a certain period of time, explained the quality of GDP from different perspectives. The fourth and fifth chapters selected thirteen indicators to form the evaluation index system of the Chinese GDP Quality according to the principles of science, feasibility and independence, and used Factor Analysis Methods to make a comprehensive evaluation and empirical analysis by reviewing the current comprehensive evaluation theory. The main conclusions are: the trend goes up totally which accompanied by small fluctuations, it can be divided into three stages. From 1983 to 1993 was a low-quality rose during the period, this stage the value of quality scores was negative, Mainly due to Chinese reform in the early, low level of productivity and economic output is not high, at the same time, the quality of life of residents was lower and inflation rate was high. From 1993 to 1998 was stable development stage, the quality of life of residents was improved continuously and the foreign trade developed continuously, which promoted the industrial structure to be reasonable and the technological level raise. From 1998 to 2006 was a rising steadily period, China carried out scientific development strategy caused the internal indicators of GDP Quality improved and will continue to rise. Then,this chapter did a Consistency analysis for GDP Quality Score and Number Expansion. We can see that GDP Quality increase With GDP growth in the number totally and Poor synchronization between the two. Finally, put forward some Suggestions about How to improve the level of Chinese GDP Quality.
