Objective:Investigate the clinical features and treatment of locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and the efficacy and safety of intensity modulated radiation therapy combined with cetuximab molecular targeted therapy for locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Materal and Method: The clinical features of 3 cases of locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma with intensity modulated radiation therapy combined with cetuximab molecular targeted therapy, who were admitted to the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi medical university from December 2007 to October 2009, (1) 3 patients were women, one was 38 years old, one was 53 years old, the other was 39 years old, (2) 3 cases of patients with Initial treatment stage T3N0M0 all use intensity modulated radiation therapy,1 recurrence within 7 year and the other 2 recurrence within 1 year, retreatment stage rT4N0M0、rT4N0M0、rT4NlaM0。(3) Treatment:2cases use seven field intensity-modulated, GTV54Gy, CTV1 44Gy、GTV68Gy, CTV1 58Gy, the other cases nine field intensity-modulated, GTV70Gy, CTV1 60Gy:3 cases were combined Erbitux(cetuximab) molecular target therapy from 1 week before radiotherapy to the end of radiotherapy, the 1st week 400mg/m2, from the 2nd week of 250 mg/m2, Results:3 patients can tolerate the treatment, short-term review MRI show significantly improved compared with before, cranial nerve symptoms improved obviously. Conclusion: intensity modulated radiation therapy combined with molecular targeted therapy can improve the local symptoms of patients with locally recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma, the recent results are satisfactory and adverse reaction can be tolerated.
