Abstract


Apply transitivity discourse analysis began in the early 1970s, when Halliday transitivity discourse analysis research methods for William Golding's novel \In later decades, transitivity analysis by more and more attention, many scholars transitivity discourse analysis method is applied to various types of discourse, especially the majority of literary works and news discourse. U.S. presidential inauguration speech and physical properties of the process of doing a quantitative and qualitative analysis, randomly selected from each of five Democrats and Republicans in his inaugural speech, self-built small corpus as the research object of this study from many U.S. presidential inauguration speech text. Systemic functional grammar of Halliday's transitivity theory relative analysis of the U.S. President in his inaugural speech and physical process, function and distribution characteristics of the transitive process designed to study the inaugural speech.
