Abstract


Competency is a management concept that originated from the United States in the early 1970s, used to distinguish those individuals that have led to its potential for outstanding performance in a job or position characteristic terminology. In this study, teaching and research university as research background, select graduate students as research object, empirical research using behavioral event interview and questionnaire survey of graduate teaching and research university. From a combination of theoretical and empirical point of view, the analysis of the graduate students to obtain the need to have the characteristics of excellent performance, to explore appropriate to engage in scientific research, college students characterized composition, so as to establish a teaching and research university graduate competency model and analyze different social groups ( graduate students, graduate students, tutors and employers) differences Graduate Competency evaluation. On the basis of the theoretical literature review on the development of teaching and research university and competency, summed up the results of previous studies, literature review and expert collected Competency entry, preparation of entries including 43 competency Competency Dictionary; then select the typical graduate student behavioral event interview, divided into blue-chip group and the normal group, the initial model Competency entries, including 20 teaching and research university graduate; once again through the questionnaire, Graduate Competency entry validation . The graduate tutor and employer of 260 questionnaires were distributed and 186 valid questionnaires were, the questionnaire was 72%; Finally, the results of the factor analysis SPSS16.0 questionnaire, teaching and research university competency points factor of six, which is calm and at ease, proactive, self-concept, independence and Thanksgiving filial personal qualities; self-learning and exploration capabilities, expertise and technology, self-control as a learning and research capacity; social experience and interpersonal communication and coordination skills interpersonal skills; ability to resolve the questionnaire, the ability of management by objectives, focus on performance objectives and actions; achievements For analytical thinking, systems thinking, and embracing thinking thinking thinking ability; firm sense of responsibility, self-reflection and principled commitment. Eigenvalues ??of the six factors of total eigenvalue of 77.645%, which well explains the internal structure of the teaching and research university graduate competency, ultimately determine the competency model of teaching and research university graduate. The results of this study can provide important reference and theoretical basis for teaching interview with the selection of research universities, teaching and training, performance evaluation, and overall quality of evaluation, graduate career management.
