Abstract


The weak limitations of the power of a single country and integration into the world and the fear of loss of self- development , regional cooperation and integration as the inevitable choice of the development strategy of the West African States . Economic globalization and regional economic integration has become an important trend in the development of the world economy , and take the road of regional integration of West African States also conforms to the historical trend of development . As the largest West African regional integration organizations , the success or failure of the integration of the Economic Community of West African States ( ECOWAS ) is directly related to the prospects for development in West Africa . Therefore , the main content of this article discussed the progress of its integration . This paper discusses the analysis of the integration of the Economic Community of West African States ( ECOWAS ) is divided into five parts : The first part of the main analysis of the West African regional cooperation and integration of the reason , before the establishment of the Economic Community of West African States ( ECOWAS ) regional cooperation in West Africa . By analyzing promote West Africa from regional cooperation to change the whole West Africa Cooperation factors , to illustrate the Economic Community of West African States ( ECOWAS ) to create the background . Also describes the purpose of the Economic Community of West African States ( ECOWAS ) and the institutional arrangements , and institutional arrangements for the integrated development of the Community . Elaborate on the second part of the Community since its inception in the market , production and infrastructure integration progress and effectiveness of the analysis of the effectiveness of the various fields reasons for the differences , to explore the specific historical circumstances of the level of economic development impact on the development of regional integration . Third part mainly on the Community in the field of non- economic , such as environmental protection , culture and social affairs , as well as collective security integration progress , while analysis of the positive role of the in-depth development of these non-economic areas of cooperation on the economic integration of the Community . The fourth part of the analysis of the main limiting factor of the slow progress of Community integration . The fifth part of this article 's conclusion, the review and summarize the experience and lessons learned from the integration of the Economic Community of West African States ( ECOWAS ) .
