Objective cervical trauma caused by blunt vertebral artery injury clinical cases of research, discussion and analysis of blunt cervical spine trauma with clinical features of vertebral artery injury , trauma mechanisms , diagnostic tools and treatment. Methods in March 2009 - March 2010 period, the clinical use of continuous observation methods , magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) observed 19 patients with cervical spine trauma , combined with X-ray , CT, MRI and other imaging data and the patient's clinical symptoms and signs of blunt trauma complicated by cervical vertebral artery injury incidence of the disease characteristics and clinical analysis and research. The results of observational studies in 19 patients and found that five ( 26.3% ) patients had blunt trauma with cervical vertebral artery injury , 5 cases were unilateral injury ( right side of the four cases , the left one case ) , including 2 patients occur due to vertebral artery injury associated vertebral - basilar artery ischemic complications , as follows: dizziness , nausea, vomiting sensation, blurred vision, vague language , facial paralysis , etc., 3 cases without any symptoms ( both excluding the brain, eyes and other parts of injury ) . The group appears in the vertebral - basilar artery ischemic symptoms two cases patients of symptoms occurred in respectively 48 hours after injury and after about 24 hours and found that immediately after the application of MRA, brain CT, laboratory tests for diagnosis, subject to vertebral artery injury after diagnosis , immediate hormone , dehydration, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, patients in the first two days of symptoms improved, to discharge recovered well . The other three cases no symptoms of vertebral artery injury patients were followed up to one month after surgery , no special treatment , does not appear vertebral - basilar artery ischemic symptoms . CONCLUSION an often secondary to vertebral artery injury after cervical spine trauma with occult and non-specific characteristics. Two vertebral artery injury and spinal cord injury are not directly necessarily linked, but the reaction from the side of the spinal cord injury can be a soft tissue injury , vertebral artery injury reference. 3 flexion rotation mechanism violence vertebral artery injury prone . 4 cervical facet dislocation and fracture easily lead to transverse foramen vertebral artery injury . 5 Magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) is the early post-traumatic cervical fast and reliable diagnostic tool. 6 For blunt trauma with cervical vertebral artery injury patients , should be early diagnosis, treatment and prevent serious complications.
