Equipment is the main material foundation of enterprise for production and business, is the important tool and method for enterprise production, is the symbolic of enterprise productivity levels, but also an important index of the enterprise market competitiveness, so it has the extremely vital role for enterprise production and management to doing enterprise equipment management related work well. At the same time, developing a set of complete equipment management system, ensuring enterprise equipment readiness and good operation state, maximizing the mining equipment production potential, reducing production cost and equipment maintenance cost, reducing production cost, improving equipment management level and the enterprise work efficiency, increasing enterprise efficiency, and promoting enterprise’s survival and development, is the most focused on steel industry, but also hotspot.This paper firstly introduces the current situation of domestic and foreign equipment management and equipment management system in the enterprise, illustrates the application of equipment management system to improve business equipment management level of stimulative effect, analyzing the current equipment management system of disadvantages. In the introduction of knowledge management ideas and methods and characteristics, and explains the basis in equipment management system introduced the importance and necessity of knowledge management. Meanwhile, Expounds the characteristics of semantic web and its over-indulgence role in technology of knowledge management, proposed a different from traditional, based on semantic web equipment knowledge management system framework, introduces its detailed function module design and realization mechanism. The paper discussed the equipment knowledge management activities in how to use the semantic web method for equipment knowledge acquisition, representation and visit. The equipment knowledge management system, based on the semantic web, solved the current equipment management system in information retrieval, information extraction and information maintenance problems, which has a very important significance for improving enterprise equipment management level.
