Abstract


To achieve leap-forward development of the education in China, distance education is an effective way. Currently, Online teaching and distance education has become an important part of the higher education. As the support of carrying out online teaching, Web-based teaching platform is facing the increase of users’scale and demand and is challenged by the quality of online education service. The new web-based teaching platform, which aims to focus on students’demand, enhance education service, teacher-student interaction and process tracking and recording, will largely increase the platform’s maintainability, stability and scalability so as to offer a good technical support to the development of the online education.The paper rests on the actual business demand of the Chongqing University Distance Education College. Having studied and analyzed the demand, the writer designs the function and framework of the system. The system is designed and completed on the basis of the lightweight J2EE of Struts Spring Hibernate.The main accomplishments of this paper include:1) Contrast and study the current situation of domestic and foreign Web-based teaching platform, and point out the necessity of building the Chongqing University Distance Education College web-based teaching platform.2) Study techniques of MVC mode of J2EE, SSH framework, WebEQ online formula editor and so on, which provides theoretical and technical supports to the Chongqing University Distance Education College web-based teaching platform.3) Finish function and non-function demand analysis of the Chongqing University Distance Education College web-based teaching platform, design system’s function framework, database structure and system processing model. Furthermore, taking teaching bulletin release as example, particularly design the system’s framework.4) On the basis of the above designs, complete the functions of the Chongqing University Distance Education College web-based teaching platform, like system management, curriculum management, teaching activities, curriculum BBS, test database, homework management and so on; finish system testing.5) Propose suggestions for further development of the Chongqing University Distance Education College web-based teaching platform On the basis of actual business demand of the Chongqing University Distance Education College, the paper designs a student-oriented web-based teaching platform.The platform realizes functions like system management, curriculum management, teaching activities, curriculum BBS, test database, homework management and so on. It optimizes system framework and improve system stability. In addition, the new platform improve the current teaching platform, and makes teacher-student interaction more convenient, which sets a solid foundation for the quality of the education service of the Chongqing University Distance Education College.
