Abstract


Objective:Based on the theory of the Governor Vessel "contacting the kidney and into the brain", cerebral palsy children with spleen and kidney deff icency were treated on the basic comprehensive rehabilitation therapy of Integrative Medicine plus therapy of Moxibustion with strengthening the spleen, nourishing the kidney and dredging the Governor Vessel, so that we can strengthen the spleen, nourish the kidney and dredge the Governor Vessel, increase the children’s immunologic function, improve the rehabilitation treatment.Methods:This is a randomized control study. Children were divided into control group and treatment group and each group is 30 cases. The control group was given routine rehabilitation therapy of Integrative Medicine. The treatment group was treated on Moxibustion with strengthening the spleen, nourishing the kidney and dredging the Governor Vessel on the basis of control group. The Moxibustion method was suspended moxibustion. We selected the points of dazhui, mingmen, zhongwan and bilateral pishu, shenshu and Sanyinjiao. The distance between moxa roll and the skin is about 3cm and every point lasts about 10minutes. One time per day and all of them were treated between 9 to 11’clock. Six times per week and last 3 weeks. And then interrupt for 20 days, for a course of treatment. The total courses of treatment was 3. The changes of Immunoglobulin, T cell subsets, salivary amylase, gross motor Assessment, developmental quotients and TCM syndrome score changes were observed before and after the treatments.Results:The blood IgG, IgA, CD3+, CD4+, CD4+/CD8+, salivary amylase activity ratio increased and the differences before and after the treatment and the difference between the two groups were statistically significant. The differences of the blood IgM and CD8+before and after treatment and the differences between the two groups were not statistically significant in both groups;the difference of control group before and after the treatment was not statistically significant. After treatment, symptom scores of the treatment group decreased and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Both groups were increased in social adjustment quotient, language quotient and social quotient and the differences before and after the treatment and tetween the two groups were statistically significant. The gross motor quotient and the fine motor quotients of the treatment group increased significantly before and after treatment and the differences between the two groups were statistically significant. The differences of both groups of the GMFM scores before and after the treatment and between the two groups were statistically significant.Conclusion:The therapy of Moxibustion with strengthening spleen, nourishing kidney and dredging the Governor Vessel on the basis of comprehensive rehabilitation therapy of integrative medicine on cerebral palsy children with the spleen and kidney defficency can improve humoral and cellular immunity; can improve the ratio of salivary amylase activity; can reduce the number of nosocomial infections during hospitalization;can improve the spleen and kidney deficiency;can improve the effection of rehabilitation therapy.
