Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), and it is the combination of MIMO-OFDM and multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) technology is one of the broadband wireless communication transmission technology very potential to meet the fourth generation of wireless mobile communication for high data The rate, large system capacity requirements. OFDM technology in the frequency domain to the frequency selective multipath fading channel into a flat channel, reduces the impact of multipath fading, enable the baseband processing unit in the receiver is greatly simplified, which can improve the data transfer rate. The linear MIMO can increase the channel capacity of the system, that is to get high enough channel capacity by increasing the number of antennas, which broke the single-input single-output channel Shannon capacity limit. In addition, accurate channel estimation is the key to improve the performance of MIMO-OFDM systems, and so the channel estimation technology is particularly important. This paper studies the wireless mobile communication system channel modeling and channel estimation problem. Through in-depth research of channel estimation techniques to further improve the performance of MIMO-OFDM wireless communication system. The main work of this thesis is as follows: 1) First, analysis of the fading characteristics of wireless mobile channel fading channel model to explain the basic principles of OFDM, MIMO and MIMO-OFDM. 2) the system capacity of MIMO-OFDM transceiver antenna and signal-to-noise ratio is derived, this is verified by simulation experiments; study the space-time block coding (STBC) and space-time trellis coding (STTC), and STBC coding, simulation and analysis of its advantages and disadvantages. 3) around the channel estimation this key technology, in-depth study of MIMO-OFDM based LS channel estimation method and OFDM training sequence based the DFT channel estimation method, the channel estimation algorithm and simulation results. 4) based on the basis of the above, for the MIMO-OFDM system is proposed A Pilot aided channel estimation and pilot design method. DFT design, pilot sequence used Gray's complement sequence Gray code perfect autocorrelation and combine multiple pilot OFDM structure-based orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBC) to achieve a good separation at the receiving end The purpose of the mixing channel; actual channel and the estimated channel normalized least mean square error (NMSE) evaluated the estimation performance, combined with MATLAB simulation analysis and comparison of the effectiveness and feasibility of these algorithms.
