Abstract


Since the 1990s , from the United States , the world-wide to one banking mergers and acquisitions boom , and with which the premium paid after mergers and acquisitions , the acquirer in order to achieve synergies phenomenon , that is the price paid and acquisition of the difference between the total value of the stock of the target banks in the four weeks before . In view of the important position of the banking sector in today 's social and economic development , is necessary for the study of banking mergers and acquisitions . Premium on bank mergers and acquisitions , mergers and acquisitions in the premium , many theoretical studies are focused on the U.S. market and Western Europe , indeed the start-up and the level of development of the financial sector in these areas is higher than in other regions , but the emerging countries , the paper argues that longer period of time to maintain rapid economic growth , and its financial institutions in the world tends to go up . M \u0026 A premium factors for these non-traditional banking in developed countries is useful theoretical value . First expounded the world in recent years is the phenomenon of mergers and acquisitions in the banking sector of the emerging countries as well as trend , followed by recalling the theoretical analysis of the sector premium determinants of bank mergers and acquisitions , according to the different categories , all possibilities will be the determining factor in the text order to four categories: the bank's own specific factors , trading characteristic factors , regulatory factors , and factors of the host country financial market structure , with each of the following also concrete were refined . In the empirical part , according to the official data of the World Bank ( World Bank ) , the International Monetary Fund ( IMF ) and the Global Securities Data Corporation ( Security Data Company ) into the panel data analysis , and model results using four control the variable method robustness testing , the study focused on the impact of the host region in which different levels of economic development , inflation and financial services distribution density of the original regression results , in addition to China in recent years bank merger cases the conclusion of this model , combined with relevant policy recommendations . The conclusion is that the target bank profitability and host information transparency and regulatory efficiency is always an important factor that contributed to the high premium .
