Abstract


Finance is the center of the economy,and bank is the center of finance.In China’s financial system,there are different kinds of banks, including state-owned commercial banks,joint-stock commercial banks,regional commercial banks,city commercial banks, rural commercial banks and rural credit cooperatives. With China’s accession to WTO,the development of the global economic integration and foreign banks entering to China,the financial situation in China has undergone profound changes. Because of competitive pressure,China’s banks is trying to become the allround banks. China’s state-owned commercial banks are restructured by state monopoly banks which are established in planned economy period. In the beginning,they did their business in their own fields,and now their financial business are almost same. They all experienced from professional system to commercial system and to share-holding system.Because of long-term monopoly position,huge capital scale and nationalwide business network distribution,the state-owned commercial banks are still in the more dominant position at present. However, they are facing more competitive challenges in the market economy, they need to enhance their core competitiveness. Although the state-owned commercial banks are developping long, they have nationalwide business network and stable customer base,they have to do more in order to enhance the core competitiveness and maintain the leading position in the market,and this is their subject.The paper will analyse how the state-owned commercial banks enhance their core competitiveness in this context. At first,it will state the background and significance of the paper. Then,it will introduce the domestic and international research literature about this paper,and clarify the paper’s research contents and main innovations. At second,it will elaborate the meaning of the competitiveness and core competitiveness,and try to find the source. On this basis, it will elaborate enterprises ’ core competitiveness theories,including the different viewpoints about enterprises,the features and contents of the core competitiveness. And then,in order to establish the theoretical basis, it will introduce the core competitiveness theories of the state-owned commercial banks,including the introduction of the concepts of the commercial banks and the commercial banks’ core competitiveness and the statement of the contents of the commercial banks’ core competitiveness. At third,it will introduce camel model and the evaluation index of the core competitiveness. According to this,it will explain the evaluation index detailedly and collect datas about it to analyse the state-owned commercial banks’ core competitiveness. So, the paper can get conclusions. At last, according to the conclusions, it will discuss the disadvantages of the state-owned commercial banks’ core competitiveness and endeavor to find the reasons. Based on this, it will get conclusions about how to enhance the core competitiveness of the state-owned commercial banks.
