Abstract
Producer services take human capital and intellectual capital as the main inputs, which run throughout various links of the upstream, midstream and downstream of production, introduce the increasingly professional human capital and intellectual capital to the manufacturing sector. Producer services are the key to speed up the convergence of second industry and tertiary industry gradually. With the increasing trend of knowledge-intensive and technology-intensive, producer services play more prominently important role in driving regional economic growth, increasing employment, income level, so as to enhance the overall competitiveness of the cities. Producer services have become an important indicator which reflect the level of economic modernization of countries and regions. The development of producer services not only promote the further refine of social division of labor, but also improve the overall service sector productivity, in order to help optimizing economic structure and spatial structure of the cities, promoting the transformation of urban functions.Take Shanghai and Guangdong as the representative of the eastern region, producer services become an important driving force to promote the development of local economy continuously, rapidly and healthy. However, as an important engine of economic development in China, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province relatively fall behind in the development of producer services, which is bound to affect the development of regional manufacturing, even the whole industry. How to evaluate and improve the competitiveness of producer services in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province in order to better promote regional sustainable development, has become a current research focus and a problems to be solved in the real sector. Research the development of producer services in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province has a certain theoretical and practical significance deeply. This paper aims at analyzing the competitive strengths and weaknesses of producer services, exploring an effective way under the existing conditions to develop advantages of producer services to enhance the overall competition of producer services in this region.In this paper, the author take regional economics, econometrics, industrial economics theory as a guide, using method of combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, expand research in the competitiveness of Producer Services in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province based on arrangement and analysis of existing research. There are five parts in this paper:the first part is an analysis about the existing research on producer services and competitiveness theory At home and abroad; the second part describes the relevant theories of competitiveness and producer services; the third part determines the evaluation index system and evaluation methods of competitiveness of producer services in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province; the fourth part empirically analyzes the producer services of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province, the Yangtze River Delta region and the Pearl River Delta region, using the method of individual indicators evaluation and factor analysis, estimates competitiveness of producer services in several representative cities and provinces of these regions, Researches issues of the development of producer services through comparative analysis of competitive advantages and disadvantages of producer services in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province,; the fifth part proposes pieces of advice to enhance competition of producer services in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province based on the analysis above.
