From 1950s, Chinese scholars on the Salar, Dongxiang, Bonan’s research related to the political, economic, cultural and many other aspects, and has made remarkable achievements, but historiography rarely involved.The paper explores the Salar, Dongxiang, Bonan’s historiography from three aspects, namely, the oral history, the historical records in Chinese, as well as the historiography from 1950s, and then discusses the national historical thought. The result shows that their historiography experienced a process from simple to complex, of which oral history is the first prize in the form of historiography, retain the original prize first-hand information, and has an important role on the maintenance of national identity; The historical records about them are fewer, but provide some historical support for the study; After 1950s, their historiography tended to prosperity. "Unity" and "Chinese" national historical thought lead the historical research, and contributed to the brilliant achievements of their historiography.
