Abstract

Concrete structure may age and lower durability gradually under long-term natural environment and severe service conditions, that may affect its function and security. The reinforcement corrosion was considered as the most primary factor of the concrete structure deterioration and durability deficiency, the economic loss caused by the reinforcement corrosion is extremely huge, and the erosion of chloride ions is the most important factor which led reinforcement corrosion in concrete. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct the research how to resistance to chloride ion penetration and anti-corrosion of reinforcement to improve the durability of reinforced concrete for the saline soil in China’s western region of the serious and adverse climatic conditions. This paper relies on the project of "Key technology research to improve the durability of concrete bridge structures in the alpine region of Tibet", and takes the reinforced concrete of different water cement ratio, different air-content, different admixture, different blending ratio of the admixture and different curing methods as the object of the research, examined the basic performance of concrete mix proportion; And studies the concrete’s performance of resistance to chloride ion permeability by using electric flux method and chloride ion penetration depth; and takes the method of passing electricity in wet environment to carry on the reinforcement corrosion acceleration to the reinforced concrete, and studies the properties of steel corrosion resistance of concrete through the reinforcement of natural corrosion potential changes and weight loss rate of reinforcement. The research result can be concluded as follows: there has a good correlation between the resistance to chloride ion penetration and anti-corrosion of reinforcement. Changing the water-cement ratio and the gas content as well as the incorporation of concrete admixture would affect the workability and mechanical properties of concrete; Reducing the water-cement ratio, proper air-entraining, mixing blending materials and a good conservation method can effectively improve the performance of concrete resistance to chloride ion permeability and anti-corrosion properties of steel, the best result is silica fume among them. On this basis, this paper put forward proposals of the Concrete Mix for solving the problem of the reinforcement corrosion in the west saline areas: Gas content in the concrete should be controlled at 3% ~ 5%; admixing fly ash or slag by 20% ~ 30%, admixing silica fume by 5% ~ 8% for the Conditional project, and try to improve the concrete curing conditions. In addition, understands the process of reinforcement corrosion intuitively through the accelerated corrosion testing of reinforced concrete, the natural corrosion potential of steel will be increased first and then slightly decreased and stabilized with the conduct of corrosion.
